CITRUS chipotle shrimp

Spring is here and ready to cook more recipes with seasonal and fresh products. Here is a new recipe "CITRUS CHIPOTLE SHRIMP", it is easy to make and so boldly deliciously. This new flavor combination will definitely ELEVATE. your weekly dinner menu.


The chipotle peppers and adobo sauce, not only brings the kick to this shrimp recipe and the smokey really adds more flavors. Adding the orange and lime zest and juice helps balance the spiciness with the sweetness from the shrimp. Just delish!



Simple ingredients to make this tasty shrimp dish:

- Large shrimp

- chipotle peppers and adobo sauce

- lime zest and juice

- orange zest and juice

- garlic

- salt and pepper



First marinade the shrimp with the adobo sauce, chipotle pepper, garlic, citrus zest, salt and pepper.




Then cooked in a hot cast iron pan to get a perfect brown sear and cooked to perfection. Adding the citrus juices and extra shrimp shells and let it simmer for a few minutes so all the flavors are combined. Adding the shrimp shells really helps bring depth to the shrimp sauce.



This is a perfect recipe to enjoy on a beautiful spring day or in summer beach days. Lets DISHPLAY IT together and ELEVATE HOME COOKED MEALS!



Ingredients:


1 lb of large shrimp with shell and deveined.

2 Tbsp of chipotle peppers with adobo sauce

1 orange

1 lime

2 large garlic cloves (grated)

2 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste


To be served with white Jasmin rice, side of avocado slices and fresh cilantro.


Preparation:


First wash the shrimp and pad dry. Then de-shell the shrimp keeping the tail on, reserve the shells for later use.

In a large bowl, add the shrimp, the chipotle adobo sauce, garlic, citrus zest, salt and pepper to taste.


In a hot cast iron pan, add the olive oil and sear the shrimp on one side for 5 minutes, then flip over for about 2 minutes, then add the citrus juice and some shrimp shells, cover and simmer for about 4 minutes.


Serve over Jasmin rice, avocado slices and fresh cilantro for garnish.
